FFP NEWS
First Year Confirmation Students Completed their
Two-Day Retreat!
Congratulations to our thirty-seven 1st-year Confirmation students on completing their retreat this past Sunday! This meaningful two-day experience was made possible by our dedicated young leaders and chaperones, who faithfully walk alongside these students as they journey toward receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in Spring 2027. We pray that the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, through God's unconditional love, be with them to guide them, comfort them, protect them and inspire them each day.
FFP's Fun Run Exceeds
their Goal!
St. Augustine Faith Formation's (Super Mario) Fun Run last, Saturday, February 7 was an outstanding event. Filled with enthusiasm and excitement, the positive energy and participation made the day memorable for everyone involved.
As of this writing, the fundraiser has raised $40,049.00 in donations (exceeding the program's goal of $40k) Sr. Ruth Linaac and the catechists sincerely appreciate the kindness and generosity shown by the donors. The donations will enable the program to continue passing on the Word of God to future members of our Church, ensuring that our faith community remains strong and vibrant.
On behalf of Fr. Ray, Sr. Ruth, the parish staff, and the entire program, heartfelt thanks goes to everyone for their ongoing support in nurturing the faith formation of our children. May God bless you richly, for your kindness and willingness to help.
A Weekend of Discovery:
"Search My Heart"
SAC FFP 2nd Year Confirmation Students completed their Away-Retreat
Last weekend,
39 of our second-year confirmation students stepped away from the noise of daily life for a powerful spiritual journey at Camp Jones Gulch. From the moment they departed on Friday afternoon, the youth embarked on an activity-filled weekend centered around the theme,
"Search My Heart."
Through prayer, reflection, and community building, these young men and women opened their hearts to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Another meaningful theme of the retreat was the call to love and appreciate our parents/guardians while we have the gift of time with them. Students reflected on how parents, whether by birth or by choice, are placed in our lives by God to be our first teachers of unconditional love. By looking at the sacrifices and guidance of their parents, our candidates were able to see a living reflection of God’s own heart and His role as our Divine Protector. The experience culminated in a beautiful closing ceremony on Sunday, attended by their families and sponsors, before they were officially welcomed back home to St. Augustine.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated youth leaders, chaperones, staff, and parents who made this weekend possible. Please continue to pray for our candidates as they prepare to receive the
Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Mary’s Cathedral on April 25th. May they continue to seek God’s presence in their hearts every step of the way.

Crowning of the
Blessed Virgin Mary
Last Saturday, May 10, 2025
We held the Crowning of the Blessed Virgin during the Holy Mass last Saturday, May 10. We honored our Blessed Mother by crowning her with a wreath of flowers, recognizing her as the Queen of Heaven and the Mother of God. The crowning ceremony symbolizes our love for her. It is the central part of the Flores de Mayo celebration, a month-long devotion to the Blessed Virgin.
The mass was followed by the “live” recitation of the rosary led by the Faith Formation Program. Decked in costumes, CCD students re-enacted the mysteries of the rosary. We ended the celebration with the procession of the Blessed Sacrament and the statue of the Blessed Mother.
We thank the Legion of Mary for the reception that they offered for the celebration. Join us as we continue with the daily devotion of prayers, rosary, and offering of flowers to our Blessed Mother at 8:30 am through the end of Flores de Mayo on May 31.
