CCD FOR SPED OFFERS THE FOLLOWING (for Students with IEPs)

  • Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Communion for students with special needs (students with IEPs).
  • Continuation of the Catechism class after the students have received First Holy Communion to learn more about the faith.
  • Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation
  • IEP Clause : Parents must provide a copy of the student’s IEP for review prior to acceptance to the program.

For families who have children, grandchildren, or know of a child with Special Needs who attend a Special Education Class in the public school, SAC offers preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Holy Communion and Confirmation.  Our program works well for children who experience faith formation in a typical setting but require lesson modifications and accommodations that make ideas understandable.

We also offer Sped RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) under the direction of Deacon Nestor Fernandez II

Lessons in the curriculum are differentiated to address the needs of the students.  Our Catechists who teach this special class are credentialed Special Education Teachers who have volunteered to share their talents and expertise.

IEP Clause
Parents must provide a copy of the student’s IEP for review prior to acceptance to the program.
