Dear SAC Parishioners, Family and Friends,

Last July 6th, we received a letter from Archbishop Cordileone to follow-up on the next step as we exit the nearly three years Chapter 11 Reorganization of Bankruptcy. Archbishop asked that all parishes, schools and other archdiocesan entities help fund the Survivors' Trust that would facilitate for a fair compensation for victims of sexual abuse related to society and from within the Church. At the same time, this settlement would permit us to resume the ministry for the spiritual needs of the faithful and support to those in the community who rely so much on our services.
   

Archbishop emphasized that no financial settlement could erase this plague from our society and from within the Church. He continues to ask us to work together in bringing some level of reconciliation and closure to those who have carried this burden for decades.
   

.To ensure fair and equitable treatment, our parish assessment was carefully determined by a third-party financial advisory that analyzed our parish financial data over two years. The assessment to contribute to the Survivors' Trust for our parish is $1,000,000. To avoid any adverse effects of market volatility, it'd be prudent and highly recommended that we submit the requested assessment by August 15, 2026.
   

After several meetings and consultations with our Parish Manager, Patricia Abdelalim, and the Parish Finance Council, chaired by Essie Claveria, we were able to determine and understand how the third-party financial advisory came up with their assessment of $1M for SAC. The third-party financial advisory assessed the amount from our non-restricted assets in our parish savings and checking accounts. The designated or restricted assets for our major parish hall project and the church canopy (sunshade) project found in our parish accounts as well as in our Deposit and Loan Account in the Capital Assets Support Corporation (CASC) of the Archdiocese have remained intact. This is definitely good news! We have the money to meet the parish assessment of $1M as well as the initial funds that we could use to begin our major project of renovating and expanding our parish hall as well as the needed sunshade in front of the Church. In fact, to date, we have already invited 5 General Contractors to a site-visit necessary for submitting their respective bids for the Bathroom Renovation project in our parish hall. We hope to choose the General Contractor in two weeks and witness the beginning of the construction not too long after. The selected General Contractor is expected to begin work on August 15, 2026, and complete the project no later than November 20, 2026. The bathroom project is part of the master plan for the renovation and expansion of our parish hall.
