John 2:1-11

The inbreaking of the Kingdom is made visible by this first sign. The old gives way to the new. Turning the water into wine, only recorded in John’s Gospel, is Jesus’ first miracle. Though initially resistant Jesus knows, as does his mother, that it is time for his glory to be made manifest through signs and wonders.

Blessed are you, Lord God. Your presence is manifested in your Son, who reveals you to the world.
