Luke 1:46-56

Mary’s canticle is a collection of quotations and imagery from the Old Testament poetically woven together to express joy in the coming of the Lord. All human expectation is turned upside down. Jesus fills the hungry and exalts the lowly. He is God’s mercy.

Dearest Mother, it is because of you and through your humble acceptance that I understand what it means to be “full of grace.” Pray for me that I too say yes to God’s call.
